Kinetic racing sculptures come in all shapes, sizes, and levels of complexity. While a large craft with land and water drive systems, retractable wheels, and seating for four may be cool, its not required. MANY successful krafts are built using nothing more than a hacksaw, cordless drill, and an adjustable wrench. Its important to learn to work with the materials and tools you have first. As you gain experience, add a tool here or a new material there. Expand your skill level and horizons. Eventually you will realize your dreams of kinetic glory.

Now what do you do when you need a part welded but don't have the machine or the skills? Bribe! This is kinetics, and you will be surprised at what a good bribe can get. Most veteran kineticists can weld and have equipment. For the right bribe, many would be willing to weld up that one part for you. Now our community is admittedly short on machinists. But that could change too.

Attend one of our workshops, come to a meeting, ask a lot of questions. Kineticists need other kineticists. The more of us there are, the greater the fun and glory!
